Reunion 2010 FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q.  Is airfare arrangements included in the planning of the reunion?

A.  No, airfare arrangement is not included, you will be responsible to make your own travel arrangements.

Q.  What will happen to the Decameron Early Bird pre-paid funds if you are unable to attend?

A.  The Decameron Early Bird pre-paid funds go directly to the resort to secure your special rate.  If you are unable to attend, you may forfeit the funds. Reservations are needed way in advance due to space availability, especially during the peak season and to secure the favorable pricing.

Q.  Is there any transportation arrangements for Decameron?

A.  No transportation arrangement is made for Decameron at this time; however, information will be posted on the web site if anything comes up.  Presently, you will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the resort.  The Early Bird special was for room and food only.

Q. Can I make my own reservation for Decameron?

A. Yes, you can make your own reservation for Decameron.  You can make reservations through Internet sites like Travelocity or through your personal travel agent, at the prevailing rates.  The special Decameron Early Registration rate, negotiated by the reunion planning committee, is only available through July 5, 2009.  If you plan to make your own arrangements to join us for our Decameron resort activity, please make them for Monday, February 8th through Wednesday, February 10, 2010 (check in on Feb 8, checkout on Feb 10).

Q.  What will happen to the pre-paid funds for other activities if you are unable to attend?

A. Specific deadlines are given to secure the venues and to plan for accommodation and services at those events.  Since our class has not participated in any fund raisers for the event, we will be relying on the collection of funds for each activity to make it a reality. The Gala Affair activity requires a deposit to secure the location. Tickets are pre-paid. No tickets will be issued at the door. It will be impossible to plan any activity if you have not paid in advance.  The final deadline for collecting the funds is November 30, 2009. At this time, payments should be made by Money Order (MO) only.

Q. Why can’t I pay for my activities with my Credit or Debit Card?

A. At this time, Money Order payment is the only means of paying for your activities; however, for your convenience, the planning committee is diligently working on another payment option that can be available to you by using the Pay Pal system. Soon you may be able to pay for your activities with a credit or debit card, provided that you are aware that a nominal processing fee (approximately 2.9% +$0.30 USD – charged by Pay Pal for processing) will be applied to the transaction, once arrangements are made. More information on this will be announced on the web site.

Q.  The activity form displays two events for the same day. Can you explain why?

A.   We have two options:
Option 1: Shopping trip to Colon Free Zone with security escorts. We need to meet the 30 person registration minimum or Option 2 will be selected.
Option 2: Beach Party at Guairá.

Q.  What are the deadlines for collecting funds for the other events?

A.  You are encouraged to pay for all your activities as soon as possible; however, to alleviate any hardship anyone may have, payments can be made in two installments. The proposed installment deadlines are:
  1. Installment 1 Deadline:                                        August 30, 2009
  2. Installment 2 and Final Payment Deadline:        November 30, 2009
